The St Patrick’s and St Brigid’s Indoor Bowls Club has been in existence for over thirty years. The club members, whose season runs from mid-September to the end of March, have their practice nights on Tuesday and Thursday of each week. Club members meet in the McAlister Hall, adjacent to St Patrick’s & St Brigid’s church, from which the club takes its name.
Membership is open to male and female parishioners from age 14 to ninety plus. The club at the moment consists of twenty-six members, but we have room for many more. We invite parishioners to come and join the club and enjoy the wonderful game of indoor bowls. The club is like a social centre where members come for a game of bowls, have a chat and enjoy a cup of tea and biscuits.
The club also plays competitive bowls in two leagues and players from all over North Antrim come to the McAlister Hall to play matches.
Any person wishing to join the club can contact the Secretary, Mrs Pat Harkin, on 028 2076 2193 or simply call into the McAlister Hall on any of the two nights mentioned above and receive a very warm welcome. So come along and experience the friendship enjoyed by our members. |
